DASH Coffee and Spice limited began trading on 12 September 2012.

I started the business because I wanted to follow family tradition and build my
own business.  Although my past business experience was not related to coffee and
spices, I believe the same sales principles and ethics similarly apply.

I started to research about coffee beans and discovered what I believe to be the best
quality coffee beans in the world. I have not visited a coffee plantation, but my wife,
grew up in Jimma in Ethiopia and provides me with important feedback and advice
due to her excellent knowledge and experience about coffee in general. My goal is
to import green coffee beans directly from Ethiopia.

When I started the business, my family, church friends and community groups
played a great role in advertising and promoting the products throughout London,
Birmingham and Manchester. Therefore, it is a predominately family run business.

Our business is expanding and in January 2016 DASH Coffee and Spice started a
working agreement with Fasika Spice Enterprise (known as H.A.E Spice and Baltina
PLC)
, based in Ethiopia.  This company produces Red Pepper Powder (Berbere)
and Chickpea Flour (Shiro) and other spices.

All the products we import are from Fasika Spice Enterprise and they comply with
the Food Standard Agencies (FSA) and to meet all requirements of the EU
Regulation 884/2014 (article 6).  These guidelines indicate that all products we have
imported to the UK have passed through a port health authority public analyst.
These analyses (13) confirm that all the products we import are free from Aflatoxin.

In January 2020, DASH Coffee and Spice further expanded the business by roasting
coffee beans in its warehouse.  Our company is also planning to produce sauce and
dip with our raw material (Spiced Red Pepper Powder) by the end of this year.

I hope you find our journey interesting and therefore possibly mutually beneficial to allow us to work together in the future. I look forward to hearing from you
